Attention First Responders! Are you ready to pop the question this Valentine’s Day? If so, we want to hear from you, and you could win the diamond ring of a lifetime provided by Modell Diamonds, a renowned New York City four generation establishment that has been adorning fingers since 1893. You will also have the opportunity to propose on a national news show recorded in New York City on February 14, 2024!

About the contest

Register for our exclusive contest by submitting a short video, 2 minutes or less, answering the following questions. You MUST answer all of the questions to qualify!

1. What kind of first responder are you, and where do you work?

2. Why should you be selected to win the Modell Diamonds engagement ring?

3. What makes your romance stand out as the romance of all time?

4. Who is the lucky person to whom you would give it, and tell us why this proposal will warm people’s hearts?

5. How long have you been together?

6. Share your story of any hurdles that you, as a first responder, have had to overcome recently.

To participate, simply upload your video entry on our contest platform.

If you plan on proposing on Valentine’s Day and are willing to share your proposal, this contest is the perfect opportunity to make it even more special. Please read the contest rules and regulations carefully before submission.
You will be required to be in New York City for the surprise proposal, which will be recorded and aired to a national audience on the morning of February 14th. 

Terms & Conditions

 

1. Eligibility:

  • Open to active first responders (police officers, firefighters, EMT’s, paramedics, corrections officers, and 911 dispatchers) in the United States.
  • Participants must be 18 years or older.
  • Void where prohibited by law.

2. Entry Period:

  • Contest begins on January 24, 2024, and ends on February 7, 2024 at midnight.
  • Entries received after the deadline will not be considered.

3. How to Enter:

  • Participants must submit their video entry through the official contest page and form on the First Responders Children’s Foundation website.
  • Entry requires providing contact information, a brief story of their service, and a heartfelt proposal plan for Valentine’s Day in New York City, NY.

4. Selection of Winner:

  • Entries will be judged based on creativity, sincerity, and alignment with the spirit of the contest.
  • The judging panel will consist of representatives from First Responders Children’s Foundation.
  • The winner will be contacted directly on February 8, 2024, through the Foundation’s official communication channels.

5. Prize:

  • The winner will receive a diamond ring, valued between 6-8 thousand dollars for a proposal that must be done in New York City, NY on Valentines Day – February 14th, 2024.
  • Prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or an alternative item.
  • Prize must be returned to FRCF if not used for its intended purpose.

6. Notification:

  • The winner will be notified via the contact information provided during entry.
  • If the winner cannot be reached within 24 hours, an alternate winner may be selected.

7. Travel:

  • If located outside of New York City, two flights and a hotel room for one night will be provided by FRCF.

8. Publicity Release:

  • By participating, entrants grant permission for the use of their names and proposal stories for promotional purposes.
  • All participants must complete the FRCF media release on the entry form to be eligible.

9. Legal Compliance:

  • The contest complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Any taxes associated with the prize are the responsibility of the winner.

10. General Conditions:

  • First Responders Children’s Foundation reserves the right to disqualify entries that violate the rules or the spirit of the contest.
  • The Foundation is not responsible for lost, late, or incomplete entries.
