Natural Disaster Response
We help ensure they feel safe while their parent is out saving others.
Our program helps each first responder family get back on their feet after a natural disaster, so their hero can keep saving others.
Details
Hurricanes, tsunamis, wildfires, earthquakes, tornadoes, and floods take a heavy toll on communities, leaving devastated citizens in shock and vulnerable to sudden homelessness and unemployment. Sadly, first responders are not immune from these same impacts. While those rescuers are out helping their community—often for days at a time—they worry about their own loved ones getting the support they need.
FRCF provides financial assistance to families of police, firefighters and emergency medical services impacted by the very disasters they are battling. As these heroes work selflessly around the clock to save lives and restore order to communities, many find it difficult to ask for help when they see so many others in need. But the fact is that even heroes need saving sometimes. Funds from our disaster relief program help pay for home repairs, childcare assistance, and a range of other disaster-related costs adversely affecting first responder families.
“After our home was destroyed by the hurricane, my family had nowhere to go. Through support from FRCF, we were able to put a temporary roof over my children’s heads while I was out with the ongoing search and recovery efforts.”
