Scholarships have been awarded to children whose parents have been killed or injured in the line of duty or have a financial hardship, including the children of 9/11 first responders whose parents made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11, died from 9/11 illnesses or continue to suffer from 9/11-related illnesses.

First Responders Children’s Foundation is pleased to announce the confirmation of former FDNY Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro to the Foundations Board of Directors.

FRCF is appealing to first responders across the country to apply to the Foundations programs, grants and scholarships, including the Foundation’s new Resiliency Program that provides mental and behavioral health support for children of first responders.

The First Responders Children’s Foundation Resiliency Program will protect and strengthen the mental resiliency of the children whose parents protect communities across the nation. These first responders often face challenges shielding their children from the stresses of their job.

Save the date for this year’s Gala honoring first responder heroes! A Celebration of First Responder Heroes will be held on Thursday, June 2nd. Tickets and sponsorship packages are now available!

Net proceeds raised will be used to help fund a new mental health program for the children of first responders and the Foundations existing scholarship program.

First Responder Children’s Foundation teamed up with Derotic Emergency Equipment in Rancho Cordova, California, to host children and parents for a fun and educational demonstration of the latest, shiniest first responder equipment available and learn what it takes to be a firefighter in Northern California!
