Brian Payne was a volunteer firefighter with the Larchmont Fire Department in New York from 1989 to 2007. During his time there, Brian responded to 9/11, and served as Chief of the department from 2001 to 2004. After his time in Larchmont, Brian served in the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department from 2007 until 2022, when he passed away from a 9/11-related illness. Brian dedicated his life to volunteering and serving his community, so in his honor FRCF has started the “FRCF Brian Payne Memorial Scholarship.”
This scholarship will honor Brian’s memory by supporting one student who is a child of a volunteer first responder and shows the same traits that made Brian special, and will be renewable for up to four years. Priority will be given to a student whose parent has suffered a death or permanent disability in the line of duty. Other considerations for this award include financial need, academic merit, and achievements such as leadership, outstanding performance in the arts or sports, and/or volunteer activities benefiting the community.
The success of our programs is only possible with the generous support of donors like you.
There is no greater way of demonstrating respect and appreciation for your community than by supporting our first responders on the front lines.
